Stuttgart has an Ambisonic sound system. Developed and built by the sh|ft ensemble, it is portable, affordable, open‑source, and will be made available to freelancers and anyone interested in using Ambisonics and 3D sound production for their artistic work.

In its first project with this sound system, sh|ft spatializes rudimentary sound synthesis. The resulting piece creates soundscapes from noise and granular synths, layering rhythmic structures with human voices. Auditory mixed‑reality zones emerge where perception patterns oscillate between live elements and artificial immersion.

Order #0711 will open on 12 December 2025 at the Werkstatthaus Stuttgart. From 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., the installation will be accessible and a bar will be open. After the opening reception, the piece will remain on display as an installation until 19 December during the Werkstatthaus’s regular hours.
